MICROSOFT CHOOSES P1 W1MAX FOR MICROSOFT VISUAL STUDIO 2010 LAUNCH
P1 W1MAX supports both Kuala Lumpur and Penang Microsoft’s Visual Studio 2010 launch events.

PETALING JAYA - Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. ("P1") has been appointed the "Official Broadband Partner" for Microsoft's Visual Studio 2010 nationwide launch, providing wireless broadband coverage for both Kuala Lumpur and Penang launch sites.

The launch of the eagerly awaited Visual Studio 2010 took place in Kuala Lumpur on 12 April at the Sunway Convention Centre (8am-5pm) and will be held in Penang on 15 April at the Penang Skills Development Centre.

The Kuala Lumpur launch drew over a 1,000 developers, programmers, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and Microsoft partners.

With P1 W1MAX, the event was equipped with high-speed broadband all over the premise, thus freeing the workshop participants from being restricted to fixed areas and hotspots. P1 W1MAX also enabled uninterrupted Internet connectivity for the live Visual Studio workshops and live broadcast for those who can’t be at the launch in person on the day.

About WiMAX

WiMAX is an abbreviation of Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access by the WiMAX Forum. It is a standard-based technology enabling delivery of last mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to cable and DSL. It is expected to enable quad play (voice, video, internet and mobility).
