Malaysia's leading WiMAX telco maintains the country's largest WiMAX network coverage to deliver "broadband for all" to more towns and cities.

PETALING JAYA - Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. ("P1"), Malaysia's first and leading WiMAX telco, announced today that P1 W1MAX is now available in various areas across Ipoh, Kuantan, and Kuala Terengganu.

Today's announcement illustrates the ongoing and continuous efforts of P1 in providing broadband for all, as it steadily adds new coverage areas daily, in line with its target to reach 35% of the population within this year.

"Expanding P1 W1MAX network coverage is one of our highest priorities and the expansion to these three states illustrates our commitment in ensuring that as many Malaysians as possible can have access to quality broadband with the flexibility, convenience and ease-of-use of wireless broadband at affordable prices," said Michael Lai, Chief Executive Officer, P1.

In addition to rapidly expanding coverage to more towns and cities eagerly awaiting the arrival of the next-generation broadband and wireless connectivity, P1 innovates on both WiMAX high-speed wireless broadband technology and marketing to address the broadband supply deficit in the country.

"A large number of the population want and need broadband today and as a challenger brand, we want to be able to meet this large and ever increasing demand. That's why we look at innovative ways to deliver what the public wants. For instance, our P1 W1MAX packages start from as low as RM49, which is considered among the most affordable broadband solutions in the market today. Our customers will experience new-world, next-generation broadband and wireless connectivity for the price offered by existing technologies today. This provides tremendous value for money to our subscribers," Lai added.

To drive interest and awareness of P1 W1MAX's availability in the newly covered locations Ipoh, Kuantan and Kuala Terengganu P1 is currently running an aggressive marketing campaign supported by road shows at attractive locations within the coverage areas.

To ease registration, customers will be able to sign up for P1 W1MAX on the spot right at the road shows. Full details and locations of the road shows, as well as detailed information on the latest coverage areas, products and packages and reseller locations are available at www.p1.com.my.

The areas covered in Ipoh include Taman Fair Park, Taman Sri Ampang, Guntong, Kampung Kastam, Taman Pari, Taman Silibin, selected areas within Kuantan, and the eastern region of Kuala Terengganu including Kampung Batas Baru, Kampung Batu Buruk, Kampung Kuala Hiliran, Taman Budaya, Kampung Ladang Tok Pelam and Kampung Tok Ku.

P1 will maintain its drive to provide the most innovative products and services in the WiMAX industry to its subscribers. Most recently, the company launched the all-in-one DV230 WiMAX modem with built-in wireless router and voice functionality just one month after the launch of WIGGY Malaysia's most advanced USB portable broadband modem.

Since the launch of P1 W1MAX in August 2008, apart from the areas mentioned today, the service is now available in many areas of the Klang Valley, and selected areas in Johor, Kedah and Penang.
